Tasty Thursday - Potato Chowder

I’ve just discovered Tasty Thursday over at The Pumpkin Patch and since I’m always looking to exchange great recipes I thought I’d participate.
Potato Chowder
8 cups diced red potatoes
1/3 cup chopped onion
3 cans chicken broth (14 1/2 oz. ea.)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 oz. cream cheese, cubed
1/2 pound sliced bacon, cooked and
crumbled or 1 cup cubed pre-cooked ham
1/4 cups snipped chives
1. In a slow cooker, combine the first five ingredients. If using ham add this as well. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until potatoes are tender. Add cream cheese; stir until blended. Garnish with chives. If using bacon, garnish with bacon as well. Serve in bread bowls.
