Tasty Thursday - Knusskipferlin
My host family in Germany made me these delicious cookies!
Knusskipferlin (Nut crescents)
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup walnuts, very finely diced
Powdered Sugar
*pecans may be substituted for walnuts if desired
1. Cream the butter and sugar.
2. Add the vanilla and mix well.
3. Add remaining ingredients and thoroughly combine. Form mixture into balls, place on a cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees.
4. While warm, gently (cookies crumble easily) roll the cookies in powdered sugar.

Those are yummy cookies. They are called something else in Dutch. My husband’s family is Dutch-Indonesian. I love those cookies. My hub was born in Holland and his parents were born in Indonesia when it was a Dutch colony. I know how much you wanted to know that! LOL.
I have never tried these bu tI’m going to have too–sound really good.
oooh, sounds interesting and yummy!!!
Walnuts hate me, would it work with pecans or no nuts at all?
Mmmm these sound yummy!
Corrie - I actually forgot to put that you could substitute pecans with it. I’m not a fan of walnuts either but I dice them so very finely for these cookies, they don’t really bug me.
Yummy, will have to try these!
These look good. I haven’t made a nut cookie in a long time.
Newbie visiting from ‘an island life.’
Certainly kicks my buttered toast choice to the side!
Best wishes
I’ll have to try these….they sounds wonderful!
