Kid Speak #3
Count Dooku:Wow, your belly button looks like a cave.
I look down, noticing my shirt has hiked up slightly, exposing my midriff.
Count Dooku: I fink there’s a little bear living in there.
What the…?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I glare.
What do you think? Does this belly button look cavernous to you?

I didn’t think so.
So now that we’ve established what a non cavernous belly button looks like, maybe some day and one tummy tuck later I’ll have one again. (Yeah, if you thought I’d show you the cavern that is evidently mine you were very wrong).
Until then, I’ll remind my last two children that being over 10 pounds at birth was their father’s fault and that negative comments on the mom bod are prohibited.

Okay…you are incredibly brave to put your belly online. Thank goodness they make really long shirts now (especially with the pants getting lower and lower rises, I mean I don’t want to wear mom pants, but good grief). Here is a good link (hope you don’t mind, I’m not trying to sell anything here, it just worked for me!) for some longer shirts at quite reasonable prices. Even when I raise my arms up high (think out-of-kids-reach treats) they still cover up.

I’m generally a little freaked out by plastic surgery, but that tummy tuck in 8-10 years is certainly worth considering. When I’ve had both of my c-sections, I’ve wondered what the doctor would say if I told them to do a little fat-sucking and skin removal while they are at it. I could always claim I was “under the influence” if they are disagreeable.
Oh that’s not my belly. :)
I added something in parenthesis above to make that clearer.
I will NEVER post a picture of this stretched out tummy to the world. People everywhere would be damaged for life.
Seriously, OVER 10 pounds??? NO!! That’s crazy!
Seriously.
My 4 year old was 1/2 ounce under 10lbs.
My 3 month old came out at 10 pounds 2 ounces.
My 6 foot 4 husband is to blame. I am a petite 5 foot 4.
That was so funny…and so something my girls would say! I know that belly button…I’ve got one too:-/
Blessings,
Sommer
Oh kids, they know how to make you feel really great, don’t they? My low point was my son squeezing my tummy and saying, “Mommy you have a BIG tummy” repeatedly. Yeah. Thanks for that. :)
LOL I love it when my kids tell my there is a baby in my tummy when there is NOT a baby in my tummy. That helps with the old body image a ton. Like its MY fault I had to have c-sections and that I don’t have time to exercise, and the even when I try to exercise my stomach muscles don’t work anymore because I was in labor for 6 solid months with one of my kiddos, then add 2 c-sec’s, and basically those muscles are now useless.
Those kids better be glad a bear doesn’t live in there or you’d sic it on them! LOL
Well, if you think of it from Count Dooku’s point of view, the belly button (not necessarily yours) does indeedy look like a cave. The cool belly-button cave!
They say the funniest things sometimes, don’t they? But sometimes I’m rewarded with “Mom, you look so beautiful!” –funny how it’s only said when I put make-up on, though…
Oh yes. Soon after my last baby was born, my then four year old daughter said, “mommy, is there ANOTHER baby in your tummy?” “No, honey.” “Well, then why does it still look so pregnant???”
Sigh.
You should be proud of your Mommy tummy! hee hee
I love your name! But 10 pound babies?!?! God bless you!
