So far today
“Where are we going mom?” Count Dooku asks
“Crazy!” I reply
I am tossing things around his room, looking for the missing sandal. Too many toys!! Too much mess!! Time to give to the Salvation Army again.

A trail of pillows and chairs leads from the couch in the living room, back to the boys bedroom. They have to hop on pillows and chairs to avoid sinking in the mud, they tell me.
Cheerios are scattered all over the carpet, a reminder that I need to put the cereal box up after breakfast. And what on earth is that funky smell emanating from the garbage can?

“Count Dooku, get that out of her mouth! Go to your room, you don’t shove toys in the baby’s mouth!!!!” I yell

I look around in discouragement. It’s only three kiddos. I mean, two really, and a baby. Why is housework so hard to keep on top of since the baby came? Does nursing really take that much time out of my day? My efforts feel so futile. I am increasingly short tempered and tired. I’m either going to start my cycle again soon, or I need to increase my meds. *sigh*

“Mom, I looove you!”
I feel Count Dooku’s small arms around my neck. A wet kiss on the cheek brings a smile. I’ll keep trying to keep a nice home. But I’ll try not to get discouraged and irritable on those days when I just can’t keep up.

I used to play the pillow hopping game pretending the carpet was quick sand. It’s very, very serious, you know. =)
Oh, the days! The days when it seems like our house has swallowed us whole!
#3 put a small pretzel in #4’s mouth about an hour ago –luckily I knew (instinct, I tell ya!) and was able to get it out. I had to quietly remind myself that he was trying to share his snack. ~sigh~
Glad your days are very, very much like mine! Aren’t the surprise “I love you’s” so great?
I always say “Crazy, wanna come along?”
Nursing does take time - it’s supposed to. Enjoy it while you can, the house isn’t going anywhere.(meant with love & a smile)
