Stroller Woes!

My husband, being the PhD student that he is, doesn’t make much at present. Money has been tight since we’ve been married and so we are forced to forego certain things we might like, especially in the way of items for the kids. I mean, why wouldn’t a parent want to spoil their little darlings?

What’s that? Because they might turn into demanding, back talking, self important individuals? Oh, well, that’s happened over here anyway, but I digress. :)

We’ve been fortunate to be on the receiving end of not 1, not 2, but 3 baby showers. One for each child we’ve had, and I believe that is a rarity these days. Baby shower number 1 was very helpful in that we received our very first stroller. A nice Graco stroller in blue, for the baby boy growing in my tummy at the time (Count Dooku). This lovely little stroller has been of good use for over 5 years now, but it is certainly showing it’s age and use.

The squeaking wheels resonate through the peaceful morning air on walks through the park, sending the local wildlife into a scurrying frenzy. This of course deprives my darling boys of the chance to chase the birds and squirrels away themselves.

The right front wheel has developed a mind of it’s own, often attempting to steer us into the dirt or grass. Frequent stops and reversals are needed for course correction.

The sun shade, though still intact, was never good at blocking the sun anyway in the early morning or late afternoon light.

And how do I even begin to address the problem of my Angel Girl riding in a stroller so decidedly representative of the male gender? If she gets called a “cute baby boy” one more time by a well meaning stranger, I fear she may be confused for life.

So I say to you my friends, a stroller less squeaky, more cooperative, more shady and more gender neutral is definitely in order. But since we can’t currently afford a nicer stroller, I’ll just have to hope I win one.

WFMW - Favorite Brand Edition

Alright, around here we usually buy whatever is cheapest, but two brands I can think of that are must haves are:

Prego Spaghetti Sauce - I just don’t like any other brand. Prego has this slight sweetness that no other sauce has and that I absolutely love!

AND

All FreeClear Small & Mighty - I love the small bottle, since we live in apts. and I have to lug all of our laundry items down the hallway to the laundry room. And I get FreeClear because of Count Dooku’s eczema.
