Interesting things about me
Jessica and Holly both tagged me for this meme.
Hopefully this will be somewhat interesting.
1. I love sports. Playing them and watching them. It doesn’t matter if I know what teams are playing, I tend to get waaaaaay more involved than your average guy at cheering, yelling and booing while watching sports of all kinds.
2. I do scary (and sometimes stupid) things just because people assume I won’t. You know, like repelling down a 190 foot, rock wall when your hands are sweating and trembling so bad you can barely hold the rope. That’s how fetchin’ scared of heights and painful deaths I am. But I had to do it, and I did it looking up at the crowd with forced enjoyment on my face. I wouldn’t show fear in front of all those guys.
3. I once wore a size 2. Before you hate me for it, note that Hubby thought I was getting cold feet during our wedding ceremony because of the huge gasping breaths I was taking. I sacrificed my lung capacity to fit into my dream wedding dress (sz. 2), which was not alterable and not carried in my size at the time (sz. 4). Dumb dumb dumb. Also note that after having children, I will never be anything less than a size 8, ever again, if that.
4. I once threw popcorn at a female exhibitionist ruining my view at a baseball game. Did I mention I get really into sports?
5. My dream for when we are empty nesters is to travel through the U.S. and Europe, headstone hunting, visiting historical family landmarks and other things pertaining to our genealogy.
I’m going to leave this one open ended. So let me know if you play along.
The rules are:
1. Link to my tagger and post these rules,
2. Facts about me: some random, some weird … all devastatingly interesting.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of my post and list their names (linking to them)
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

I think I’m spoiled
Weekends are generally pretty hectic around here. It starts on Friday night, with Hubby and I staying up way too late watching movies, then desperately trying to sleep in the next morning. Saturday is a whirlwind of errand running, cleaning, getting everyone showered before bedtime and setting things out so we might actually make it to church on time in the morning. Sunday is usually less physically hectic but can be a wee bit stressful trying to keep the kids entertained all day with a very short list of sabbath appropriate activities. HOWEVER, one thing I almost never have to deal with on weekends, is cooking.
Yes, my dearly beloved knows a thing or two about cooking. In fact, (though I am actually cringing as I type this) he is a better cook than I.
There, I said it. That doesn’t mean I’m a bad cook, mind you. It just means he’s better. He’s the kind of person that just knows what spices and herbs will go together, who doesn’t need a recipe to follow. Who throws a pinch of this and a handful of that into a bowl and WALLA…a gourmet meal. Well, not exactly like that but you get what I’m saying.
Just last night he made Navajo Tacos. He used left over turkey meat and spruced it up with sauteed onions and garlic. He made salsa verde to accent the toppings and he made the fry bread onto which we spooned our toppings (all from scratch).
On Saturday we attended a party which featured a salsa contest. No, not salsa dancing silly. :) The other salsa. His delicious salsa recipe (see comments section) was voted #1 and he admitted to me he was darn proud of it. It was the best salsa there, and not just because he’s my hubby. Though there may have been some contenders if any of the other recipes had any heat. We like nose run inducing heat over here.
Anyhow, you get the picture. He’s good.
So weekends are my time to sit back and let him put his creative energy into mouth watering meals. I realize I’m pretty darn lucky, not only that he can cook, but that he likes to. And you can bet I’m already training my boys in the kitchen, so they can give their future wives a break at times. They already know sugar from flour, unlike one of my friends husbands.

Heads or Tails? - Keys
I liked Janice’s variation on this theme so I thought I would follow suit. If I had a Magic Key, I would use it to get rid of these.
