This is getting increasingly worrisome

The number of toy recalls on products made in China due to lead is seriously disturbing. But now a new, super popular toy has just been recalled for a reason scarier than lead. The popular toy, Aqua Dots has been recalled after some infants and kids swallowed the beads and had to be hospitalized since the beads metabolize into a date rape drug when ingested. I’m absolutely sickened after reading about this and after reading about the thousands of toy recalls that have occured just over the last few months. With the holidays coming up we need to be particularly wary of what we are purchasing for our children this year. I’ve decided as a general rule I am simply not going to purchase anything made in China at this point. I know that may limit my choices dramatically but I’m sure I’ll be able to find great quality toys that won’t poison my children in some manner.
