Nope. My two girls were angels and rarely cried. My first boy was an angel and rarely cried. My current baby boy is an angel and cries too much, I think. But only when he’s sick and/or teething and/or going through a growth spurt. I mean, he doesn’t cry if I hold him all the time (and you obviously know what I mean).

It’ll pass. I promise. :)

Or maybe it’s a 3rd baby thing? My first two were also fairly easy going and my 3rd one was much more difficult… Still is, actually. :)

Curious George was a lot like Angel Girl. Also, he wouldn’t sleep very well anywhere outside my arms until he was 4-6 months old either. Looking back, it seems like I spent his first 5 months with one boob out in a constant nursing session. *ugh* I’m glad that phase has long since passed, and I’m sure it will for Angel Girl, too. The only question is “when?” For you, I’m hoping that this phase ends, like, tomorrow. Here’s to hoping.

Uh - I don’t think so. Hope you figure it out though - take care. Kellan

Ha, ha. That actually sounds like my little boy! My girls were both happy and smiley. Baby Boy is infinitely more demanding.

I feel for you, though! It sounds like you at least know what their needs are. Me, I still feel like I’m muddling around wondering what they need and when! Maybe I missed the ‘bonding’ part somewhere along the line…..

Naw, I had one boy like that. I have memory lapses from BBB’s first 5-6 months cuz he never slept at night and I had a 2 yo.

Best wishes on this!!

HUgs.

I’d like to reassure you but I’m afraid my boys did it too!
Cheers

ahhh, my girls were/are still like this. scream scream scream for everything. it drives me batty.

MarieDecember 13th, 2007 at 7:10 pm

My son was never like that, my daughter has always been. I’m constantly having to explain to her that I love her brother just as much and need do give him love and attention too, but she seems to think she’s the favorite.

It has been awhile since I had a baby but I remember someting about age specific behaviors relating to separation anxiety, about when the baby would recognize that baby and mama were separate. I was just counting on my fingers how old your Angel Girl would be and it seems like it could be normal behavior for her age. Also with three children, like you’ve quoted before, and only 2 hands, Mom’ hands are full.

Boys and girls are so different it’s amazing–from the beginning!

movingmamaDecember 13th, 2007 at 11:12 pm

Sounds like you have a twin for my Curly :) He’s my screamer/cryer… ah - the life… does anyone know where to buy a good pair of earplugs?

MariaDecember 14th, 2007 at 12:27 am

No, I don’t think it’s a girl thing. I think it’s an “Every child is SO different” kind of thing. I have 4 VERY different kids, similar in some ways, very different in others.

McKennaDecember 14th, 2007 at 1:24 am

Haha… good translation job! Sorry I’m not experienced enough to give good advice on the matter. My son sort of does this but not until he actually sees me mixing his bottle. Once he sees it, his life is officially over until that nipple goes in his mouth. He doesn’t so much cry as hyperventilate.

KimberlyDecember 14th, 2007 at 12:54 pm

Does it help to hear that it comes and goes?

MelissaDecember 14th, 2007 at 12:54 pm

I think all of my kids went through something like this… sorry you’re going through this :S
You asked about the syrup recipe on my blog… I’m just going to give it to you here…lol…is that okay? I hope so… it’s really easy…
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 Tablespoon water
Stirring continuously, bring to a boil over medium heat (any higher and the sugar burns… FAST) When it comes to a boil turn the heat down to medium low and boil for 4 minutes. BE CAREFUL when using it… it burns like crazy :S But it works wonderfully! Good luck!

AmandaDecember 14th, 2007 at 1:49 pm

both my girls were easy going. They didn’t cry too much but Sarah never wanted me to put her down.

ChristineDecember 14th, 2007 at 4:33 pm

Lindsay was like that, she never wanted to let go. But Marissa my oldest, when she got her first tooth, and her taste for food, pushed me away. I think it’s an every child is completely different thing.

kailaniDecember 15th, 2007 at 5:05 am

Definitely a girl thing. You know how demanding we can be! LOL!

CoreyDecember 15th, 2007 at 2:26 pm

I say “no” also. my girl was not clingy or whiny either.

I do hope it eases up for you. That is tough.

tiffDecember 17th, 2007 at 12:42 am

I don’t know… three out of my four girls were pretty easy going but my youngest girl just wants to be with me all the time.
