And I thought I had nothing to blog about
1. Yesterday as I nursed Angel Girl in the computer chair while reading blogs, I leaned back too far and tipped us over. As we fell in seeming slow motion I tightened my left arm firmly around her and braced us for the fall with my right. But the force of impact catapulted her right out of my left arm. She was about to face plant onto the carpet when my right arm (thank goodness for reflexes) caught her across the belly, her nose an inch from the floor. Though not hurt she cried for a minute because of fright. Then it was back to sucking happily on the mama, while the mama chuckled and shook her head at the instant replay she kept seeing in her head.
2. On the day we actually went out and did something really cool (Science center), Obi-Wan peed all over himself. And me being the good mama that I was, I rubbed the wet spots with damp paper towels, put the pants back on my son and told him to go play some more because we weren’t leaving after we’d just arrived.
3. Count Dooku informed me at dinner the other night that, “you make da worst dinners of da house.”
I’m really not a bad cook people. He was trying to say that Daddy’s dinners are better. Hubby has been cooking for months now and he’s better at it than I am. He’s a cook. I’m a good recipe follower. And Count Dooku is going to be eating soap if he doesn’t learn some tact.
4. I’ve been given an award! Cheryl at Happy Meets Crazy says my writing inspires hers and has bestowed the ROAR for powerful words award on me:

“…ROAR Award for good writing. The rules for being A Roar for Powerful Words recipient are that I share three writing tips and pass the award on to three more bloggers worthy of recognition and esteem…”
So three writing tips:
A. Don’t force the story. You may have started writing it with a certain ending in mind but if you’re a really good author you’ll let it take it’s own course.
B. Spelling and grammar people
C. Don’t ever write something based on what you think your reader will want to read. When you write it for you it’s always more powerful.
Thanks Cheryl! I’d like to pass this on to:
Michelle at In the Life of a Child who inspires me with her beautiful descriptions of life with her sweet family, Aubrey at aubrey annie for her prose like blog entries that captivate the attention and Holly at 2 Kids and Tired whose blog entries always seem to make me feel cozy.
5. I’ve been given another award! Michelle at In the life of a Child has given me the Forever Friends award:

I’d like to pass this on to all of my regular readers! You know who you are so take it!

Got something to say? Please keep it kind and clean. Otherwise I might have to share your email address with the spammers... Kidding. Kidding. Your email address will never be shared with anyone. But if your comment is inappropriate it will be deleted.

You always have the best stories. I think the story about Obi-Wan peeing his pants is my favorite. :)
Talk about busy times! Congrats on the much deserved awards!
Neat awards! Thank you so much. I’m incredibly touched.
Wow, who knew nursing at the computer could be so dangerous? Way to go with those reflexes! I nursed my son at the computer pretty much every single night, for a very long time - all so I could play my video games without interruption! Your story is making me feel lucky that we escaped any mishaps! ;)
2) What is it with kids and deciding they have to pee the moment you get somewhere? Even if you have them go before you leave the house (maybe *especially* then, since you won’t be expecting it, that way!), they’re always smack dab in the middle of an emergency any time you get somewhere fun!
3) Congratulations on being a good recipe follower. I am improving - my teenage days proved me incapable of following simple recipes for boxed mac ‘n cheese. I’d do crazy things like add twice as much milk, or forget a packet of the cheese when I’m making 2 boxes, fun stuff like that. Nowadays, I can *usually* pull off a new recipe without any major catastrophes! And I do love to try new recipes, too :)
4) Thanks for having things to blog about! I’m having an exceptionally bored day. :)
Wow, those are some major reflexive super powers you have. I would have been all sorts of tangled up on the floor by the end of that. You’re so good at describing things, I could picture it perfectly and I laughed :)
I love the story about Daddy making better dinners. It reminded me about Noah the other day saying “Mommy, you’re a mean mom” and when I asked what he meant he said “Daddies are supposed to be the mean ones and mommies are supposed to be nice but you yell at me when I’m naughty.” I’m not sure about where he got this logic but it definitely made me think.
Hey congrats on all those awards! btw, I’d stay at the science center if we just got there too.
Oh my gosh! Falling over while nursing would freak me out (and my daughter too!)!!! I’m glad no one was hurt! You’ve had a funny couple days it sounds like.
holy moly, nice reflexes woman. i’m glad you were both safe!
Thanks for the stories about your children. I smiled. Thanks for helping with that. This evening was stressful; it was nice to sit here and smile.
LOL :D
Such funny stories. You sound like an AWESOME mother to me. :)
Congrats on the award. Certainly a very deserving recipient!
You definitely have a lot to blog about :) !! Congrats on your awards. I second the notion the check spelling and grammar.
Good catch on the baby! I always hope that my reflexes are better then my actual talent. Sometimes I catch, sometimes I miss. And I love the peeing story. You are definately my kind of mother! Congratulations on the awards! I love to see what other’s think of each others blogs.
So glad you found something to blog about :D I’m glad you and your little one are okay….Congrats on the awards!!
So glad no one was hurt with that spill you took - I was just holding my breath through that whole paragraph!
And thanks so much for the award, Summer! It really means a lot coming from you - even if you do make da worst dinners of da house ; )
