News, An Award and Two Memes

Since bloggyland is moving so slowly right now I think I’ll catch up on some stuff.

1. My littlest brother has decided to join the blog world so go tell him hi!

2. Tiff over at Three Ring Circus has given me an award:

wonderfulwomenwaward.jpg

I’d like to pass it on to some other wonderful women I’ve met via blog world - Ally,
Christine, Janice, Kailani, Michelle, Stacey, Jordan, Melissa, Marie, Deb, Thalia’s Child, Laurie, Kenna, Kristi,Cristy, Corrie, Holly, Jessica, Cheryl and Lucy

3. A long while back Becky tagged me for the HOUSEKEEPING MEME:

What three kitchen items do you use the most often?
A cookie sheet, small saucepan and stand mixer

What kitchen gadget do you wish you had?
I miss having a pizza stone. It’s great for cookies. Ours broke.

What kitchen gadget do you never use/wish you hadn’t spent money on?
We received an apple corer/peeler device for our wedding and it’s crap. I finally tossed it.

What is your favorite cookbook
I actually don’t use a cookbook. I’ve compiled all my favorite recipes gathered from wherever into a binder. But when I’m looking for new recipes my favorite recipe site is Allrecipes.com

Who is your cooking inspiration
This ought to be who is my baking inspiration since my husband does most of the cooking and I bake. My love of baking started with my mom who let us help her make cookies in the kitchen as kids. Now one of my favorite things to do is bake with my kids.

What are the three most important items on your spice rack
cinnamon, cloves and (when I do cook) garlic salt

What are three recipes you use all the time?
For cooking, Chicken Crescents, Chicken Cheese Bake and Stuffed Manicotti

Can you share a cooking/baking secret?
To easily remove garlic peel, lay a large sharp knife atop the garlic and give the garlic underneath a good quick pound with the flat of your hand. The peel will come right off.

What is your greatest cleaning secret
Murphy’s Oil Soap

What is your favorite thing to clean
Really, I just enjoy cleaning in general. A clean house feels so…happy

What is your least favorite thing to clean?
The bathtub hands down. The one thing I dread cleaning.

4. And Ree tagged me for the HUSBAND MEME:

1. What is his name?
Tom.
2. How long have you been married?
7 years 3 months.
3. How long did you date?
We met and got married all within 4 months 16 days.
4. How old is he?
28.
5. Who eats more sweets?
Me for sure.
6. Who said I love you first?
Well we sort of said it at the same time. I asked him if he thought you could love a person after only knowing them one week and he said yes.
7. Who is taller?
Tom is 6′ 4”. I’m 5′ 4”.
8. Who can sing better?
Me.
9. Who is smarter?
We’re both smart in very different ways.
10. Who does the laundry?
Me.
11. Who pays the bills?
Him.
12. Who sleeps on the right side?
Him.
13. Who mows the lawn?
Management.
14. Who cooks dinner?
He does.
15. Who drives?
He does.
16. Who kissed who first?
I kissed him.
17. Who asked who out first?
He asked me. We went hiking up to a cave.
18. Who proposed?
He did. He picked out the ring all himself and it’s perfect.
19. Who has more siblings?
He does. I have 4 siblings, and he has 12 siblings!
20. Who wears the pants?
We share the pants.

Alright, that’s all for today folks. Play along if you’d like.

I hope everyone had a HAPPY EASTER!

Wow, thank you for the award - you are so sweet!

It’s fun to learn more about your hubby. We’ve been married for 7 years too - and got engaged 2 months after we met, but we waited a year and a half to get married. :)

Oh and we’ve got one of those apple peeler/corer things too - still in the box, brand new. ;)
