I’m normal, really.

Yet something has happened to me today. After spending hours perusing the ginormous list of giveaways happening around the blogosphere, I’ve suddenly struck a silly chord.

Maybe it was my ending every entry with an exclamation mark, Great Giveaway!, I would love this!, Thanks for the opportunity! that drove me crazy. But I had to do it.

I mean, won’t these people know that an exclamation at the end means I really want to win? Doesn’t that exclamation convey the desperation excitement I have to win this or this?
Aren’t I bettering my chances by sounding super excited? Please?

Alas though I found I could exclaim no longer. At least not in traditional fashion.

So I found myself typing things like, Target is da bomb! and Holy Sweetness! I love it when people essentially give away money. I don’t have any! Pick me! and Me like cheesecake.

Yes, I’ve decided with that last one I best get off the computer and start again tomorrow, re-normalized.

P.S. I’m giving away another blog design

I felt the same way today. I was determined to use some new expressions instead for the same thing “great give-away” I had to stop after an hour…it was getting monotonous. I am sure I’ll pick it up again tomorrow night.

That’s so funny…I’m going to have to check out the bloggy giveaways.

LOL. I have chosen to stay away from the carnival for that very reason. I wish I could handle it but what happened last time went like this:

    Great contest, count me in!

Wow, this is exciting, I hope I win!

Man, I love your blog and I’m totally subscribing to your RSS feed. P.S. Pick me!!

    Wow, what a great giveaw–zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……….

I’ve never heard of a Bloggy Giveaway Carnival before. Thanks for letting me know. I decided to give away some Twilight (the series) inspired perfume spray on my CustomScentsOnline blog. I’m #518 on the Bloggy Giveaway list. This is cool! I’m excited!

I swore I’d never use a happy face in my writing ever. Then I started blogging and I use them like they’re going out of style :)

Lol, “Target is da bomb!”, you are so funny. I find I really have to pace myself when it comes to blogging/giveaways or everything else goes down the toilet. I didn’t know about the carnival either. Hmmmmm.

Yeah, imagine my excitement when I discovered Chatsworth was just under an hour away from us! It was so awesome.

That’s too funny! I sure haven’t even tried to be creative. Unless they ask for something specific, I usually just paste in ‘Count me in, please!’ and then maybe a somewhat personalized ‘Cute!’ or ‘I love Target!’

I haven’t entered contests for awhile… but I tried to be creative too… didn’t always work, but sometimes it was clever, I think…

    Hee hee hee….you’re so cute!

The exclamation point thing happened to me with the last one too. I think it’s because I’ve grown up listening to radio contests, and if the winner doesn’t shriek with joy they’ll pick someone else. My friend Dawn’s husband is a DJ, and he let me in on a secret. You know how they say you need to be caller 10 or some such? They actually record all of the phone calls and just pick the one that sounds the most excited. But I don’t see that working with Mr. Random Number Generator.

Ha! Ha! You’re funny. I never win those things so I’m super impressed with your attitude to enter ALL of them. Good luck. I hope your win!

I think I’m only at #150 and I’m already feeling overwhelmed! Must. Win. Something.

SO funny! I rarely go for the giveaways, but it would be cool to win something! Your pictures of your sweet baby are so cute! Happy first birthday!

LOL - I thought of you last night while I was hitting the last hundred or so giveaways that I hadn’t yet gotten to… Tried to change things up a bit - at least a little bit, but there’s really not much else you can say for some of them other than ‘Great giveaway!’, is there… :)

    funny!
I’ve yet to make my rounds on the giveaways for the same reason! :)

    Hey girl!

Thanks for coming by my giveaway today. Your post was perfect and NO !! *bang* needed. LOL

I have been entering these contests today and yesterday too. MAN what crazy endeavor. I can’t possibly imagine that all these people would want something completely original. Many don’t which is cool by me. Those who do, I try my best.

I am on blog 437 as of right now. I have NO clue how I will make it through the rest. Thank you for voicing exactly what I have been thinking. :)

While I am here, I want to say that I am digging your blog theme. Very cool.

I guess I am rambling now. :) Thanks again for stopping by and have a fab evening.

    Hugs
    Rach

Hahaha. Yeah, pretty soon you just start copy/pasting the same comment, so you don’t have to type it every time. :-D And hey, maybe two or three exclamation points will earn bonus points for enthusiasm? You should totally try that…

  19. Kelsey SmithNo Gravatar on April 24th, 2008 10:43 pm

I am the same way what else can you say!

  20. PaigeNo Gravatar on April 25th, 2008 3:57 pm

Oh, I know it. I spent too much time entering the contests, and then I thought, “Why am I spending all this time on these contests? Last time I won a t-shirt and a disk of organizational software, and the disk never even came.” I could buy my own t-shirt, so why am I wasting all my time. This time, not only did I not even host my own contest, but I didn’t enter nearly as many. But if you’re having a design giveaway, maybe I’ll have to enter that one. If it’s not too late already.

But I hope you win something. I hope I win something. I hope we ALL win something!
