7 truths and 1 lie

In honor of April Fools Day I ‘d like to see just how many of you I can actually fool. One account of the eight written below is not true. Can the you guess which one it is?

1. When I was very young, 4 or 5, one of our neighbors became upset about something and sent me home. Evidently I was worried for her so I picked her some flowers and took them to her to cheer her up, all of my own accord.

2. When I was about 4 my mom helped me learn how to do Somersaults. I was very proud of my newly acquired skill and I wanted my mom to do some with me, so I asked her, “Can you do MommySaults?” (Do you get it yet?)

3. My dad brought home so non-alcoholic beer when I was about 16 just for us kids to try. We each took a sip and promptly spit the nasty stuff out. My dad chuckled while we each declared we would never drink real beer ever. I still haven’t ever had a sip of anything alcoholic.

4. I was a social outcast for my early years. Painfully shy and determined not to be like other girls, a so called Tomboy. My only friends were boys and books.

5. I am a treat-aholic. I love to bake and eat sweets. My favorite dessert ever is a deep dish Cherry Pie.

6. I didn’t kiss a boy till I was 17. After that I only kissed one other guy and he is now my hubby.

7. I went to my 11th Grade Prom alone. I had it on good authority that a boy two years younger than me was planning to ask me and I didn’t want to go with him. He was super annoying to me in class and I was a bit immature so the very day I heard the rumor I made it known I already had a date. But I didn’t. Then I went to prom and told everyone my “date” had to cancel.

8. I won second place in the 8th grade spelling bee. The word I misspelled: Guard.
Hey, did I spell that right? :)

I’m going to guess #8… :D

P.S. Something for you over at my place :)

You’re so believeable on all of these…but I’ll guess #7 … maybe you went with the guy who was 2 years younger after all…having taken pity on the lowly creature.

#2 is cute, even if its not true.
That’s a tough choice. I’m going to guess #4

I’m going with 8, but it’s a tough call!

I was thinking number 7 just cuz I think you seem way too considerate of others feelings to do that but you’ve got some good ones here. I honestly have no idea. I liked #2. That one took me a minute to get!

This is a hard one. Maybe #8.

I’m going to choose the beer one, but I really have no idea!

McKennaApril 1st, 2008 at 10:41 pm

Okay I’m having a hard time choosing between 7 and 8, but I’m almost certain 1-6 are true…. It’d be like you to trick us, so I’ll say 8 is the lie! You would never have misspelled guard by the 8th grade, not YOU, and if I’m wrong and you did, then it must’ve just been the pressure.

I could use a special Summer hug plus a prayer for parenting whatever it is I need……………..

Huggles back.

Ok then… I have an idea. I’m pretty sure 2 through 6 are right but I could be wrong. I would have to say it’s number 7 because I always remember you going to any dance you were asked too. But I could be mistaken. Be sure to let me know.

P.S. I remember the word I mispelled in fourth grade. The announcer pronounced the word “cardamon” so I spelt it correctly and it turned out the word was “cardamom” I cried afterwards.
Anyway, I also fixed something on my last blog if you want to re-read. Thank you! Love you very mucho! :)

Umm, no clue. I’m gonna guess #5 because nobody else has. I know you love to bake, but I’ve never heard you mention cherry pie…

MeishaApril 2nd, 2008 at 12:45 pm

Aw geez, well you got me back for stumping you, by stumping me.
#1 I don’t recall hearing that story before, but it does sound like something you’d do.

#5 I know you’re a treat-aholic, but I don’t remember anything about deep dish cherry pie.

#7 I remember you going to Prom alone, but I thought that was more because it was socially acceptable to do at your school. Maybe I just don’t remember it right.

#8 You? Misspell Guard? Unlikely.

Well, I guess I have to pick one. I’ll go with #1.

kailaniApril 2nd, 2008 at 2:07 pm

I’m guessing #8, too.

Deb - Mom of 3 GirlsApril 2nd, 2008 at 2:46 pm

I think I’d have to go with #8 too. So which is it?? :)

AllysonApril 2nd, 2008 at 3:10 pm

I’m guessing #7.

All of them fun, though! I’m so eager to hear the truth!

AllieApril 3rd, 2008 at 2:25 pm

It might be 8 but I sure don’t know- Hi Summer
