Evolution of Me

School Pictures

Hey, pretty cute!

Not as cute.

The downward trend continues.

HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL!! What the flip did I do to my hair, and why?!?!?

There’s hope on the horizon.

She might even attract a man

Do boys ever take horrid school pictures? I mean, there’s so much more you can mangle when it comes to long hair. And why did my mother ever let me mangle it so? (love ya mom)

It’s funny you posted these tonight - I just found a stack of school pictures of mine while I was cleaning, and was thinking of a similar post.

Boys do take bad school pictures. My brother’s grad photo is humiliating. (Of course, he graduated in 1989, and had a mullet, so that only makes the situation worse….)

Hey don’t blame me - it was your gramma. She taught me everything I know. She made me have perms every few months so that my thick, thick hair kinked up like a fro. I looked horrid.

    PS: You’re BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Ah ha ha ha! I was only around for the “there’s hope on the horizon” and on. Not that I would have stopped you from getting the mushroom haircut. I was having my own early 90’s tween awkwardness in California at the time. Also, nice use of a Spongebob phrase.

Hee, hee! You’re a brave woman… mine will NOT be showing up in a post :D

You were a very cute kiddo! :)

Bwa ha ha! Isn’t Calvin and Hobbes the answer to all life’s problems? You are very brave to post all your pictures! I don’t know if I’ve got the guts myself! Man, going home and seeing those babies on the walls of my parents house is alway frightening!

You actually look like one of the girls I used to babysit in your younger pictures. :)

What great pictures! I think you were very cute, even with a very, um, interesting haircut. :-)

You know…the only reason that we have school pictures taken every stinkin’ school year is because our parents wanted something to use to blackmail us with later in our lives…or maybe it was so that our children could make fun of us later in life…or maybe it was so that we would feel some good accomplishment in our lives - hey…anyone who can make it through the “awkward years” and look as good as you did is doing pretty dang good if you ask me!

Oh you just had those awkward years we all had from 10-15. You are lovely. I also think school photographers aren’t very good photographers. Remember all the very ugly class photos?

Hugs for my faithful and sweet friend.

It has been a while since I read your blog. I am not quite sure where I have been. I read with interest your experience with your hamster. Our hamster of two years past away last week. Just this morning I dropped the cage and hamster ball off at DI. We had fun with her. I hope that you enjoy your hamster.

All I can see in my school pictures is my Adam’s apple.

    Dang you’re pretty!

    I like you anyway.

    Really.

You’re adorable. And yes, boys don’t always take great pictures too. I should dig out some of mine. Of course, they’re from the ’70s to mid ’80s. Scary…

OH yes, I remember some of those awful haircuts. My mom’s been going through pictures and sending some awful ones to me too. Yuck! OH, and my boys have lovely stand up hair in many pictures around here.

Oh dear. I feel a post coming on…At least your clothes don’t reveal too badly what decade it was! Wait’ll you see mine…

Okay, I’m laughing so hard because I think I knew you most during the ‘holy mother of pearl’ stage, but honestly, that’s not how I remember you. I remember you looking more like you look in pictures now. Go figure! Those are pretty cute pictures - flippy hair and all. hehehe

LOL, I don’t think it’s just you - it’s those darn haircuts back from the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s… Why we ever thought we looked ‘cool’ like that is sometimes beyond me. I love the photo right before the current one - is that your senior photo?

I posted my school photos a while back - takes a lot of courage!

And yes, my brother’s pictures are a hoot too, so it’s not just girls… :)

  20. SummerNo Gravatar on April 17th, 2008 1:39 pm

Actually the last one is my Senior photo and that’s my, “I’m humoring you” smile. :)
