Weaning Woes

I don’t know about you, but when my milk started going, so did my physical appearance. I need a good bra and a hair thickener. Help!

Oh no! Those hormonal changes can be so catastrophic!

My only advice is to pay whatever it costs to get a really, really good bra. Worth the investment!

I have to laugh at your pictures….I was so sad when I lost my pregnancy boobs. I went from a nice size B to a barely-A. They are smaller now than before I was pregnant.

I was just so sad to give it up that I didn’t notice how saggy I had become.

Haha, that’s funny… I mean the pictures, not what’s happening to you! I’ve been through it two times so far and am not looking forward to it next year for a third time! Yea, a good bra can help. As for the hair, just got to ride it out!

Great pics! I think I’m gonna relate to Jacki there - I’ve been enjoying the Bs and hate the idea of going back to As . . .

A friend of mine actually went from a C cup pre-babies to CONCAVE boobs after weaning and losing weight. She just had a boob job and I am so jealous!

LOL. I think the act of drawing pics might make it feel even more sad, if it were me!

I honestly can’t relate or help, unfortunately. I have been either pregnant or breastfeeding (or both) consecutively for over 5 years. My chest has not had a chance to become deflated. Although I’m certain it will be a nightmare when it does, since I’ve now graduated to F-cups (!!!), and they’re *already* … um, lower?… than I want them to be.

And I hadn’t even thought of the hair issue.
(And looking at your Twitter, congrats on the weight loss! Wish I could say the same thing!)

Isn’t that the truth?

I dread bra shopping almost as much as I dread jean shopping.

After four children, I have to scoop my girls in to place. Oh well.

And the hair…mine went frizzy, not flat. So I was always trying to tame it.

Okay, I am with the “A” cup ladies after just weaning my last kiddo. My hair unfortunately is thicker and coarser than ever after kids and very hard to manage. Although, I did have the extreme thinning after my second babe.
My biggest complaint about weaning is my skin. It can’t decide if it’s oily, dry, red, blotchy or pale. So it is doing a combo of all of them. I look like a teenager who could use some Retin-A. Any tips for controlling bad hormonal skin?

Oh you poor thing! Been there, done that. It’ll all even out soon. Just hang in there - no pun intended :-)

They say that vitamins and time will help your hair grow back. Worked for me. As for the sagging boobs - sorry, there’s no going back. hee hee

Yep, been there! :) Although I didn’t mind the hair part since mine is way too thick to begin with. But it’s been over a year now since I weaned Becca and I still need new bras. Sigh.

I love your pictures!! So funny! I haven’t nursed in over 2 years and I still look like that. It was really sad when I had to buy a smaller bra size than I wore in high school just because they are so deflated. Help! I think I’m going over to get me some of Victoria’s Secret!

Wanda GreeneJuly 1st, 2008 at 12:23 pm

Hey Summer,

Aunt Wanda here. Your mother just turned me on to your web site. I am in awe. She thought I would enjoy these drawings of you before and after pregnancy. After my last child, I wasn’t even an A cup. I was less than an A cup. Most men were bigger than me in the chest.

I enjoyed all the comments that everyone sent in so I wanted to add one to it. I went out and paid $5,000 to get boobs and now I have a 16 year old daughter who is already bigger than me after I spent all that money!!

It is embarrassing to say the least. I’m saving my money again. One day when these deflate and they will, I am going to get it right next time. HA
