A lot can happen in 15 years
Think back on the last 15 years of your life. What would you tell someone that you hadn’t seen or talked to for 15 years? How would you sum up your life?
Fifteen years ago I was but 11 years old. Hmmm….
* I’m still a bit of a tom boy but I have finally connected with my inner girlie. I know I swore off pink but I’ve found it’s actually my best color and I kind of like it…in small doses of course.
* Those hundreds of story ideas I had bouncing around in my head? They’re still there but now I’m not afraid to put them on paper and take them to a publisher. Of course, I have to complete one first…
* I know I said I was going to be an astronaut full time and an artist and author on the side but I discovered I’m not fond of tight spaces, I’m not very good at painting and I have yet to have any works published, officially.
* Yeah, I got married. Even after all my hate talk about romance and flowers. But my husband doesn’t like romance or giving me flowers either.
* I have three little kids running around now. Two boys and one girl and motherhood is a more rewarding job than I ever imagined.
* Oh, and I know I said that if I got married it would be to Jonathan Brandis. But yeah, that didn’t happen.
* You know that time we went to that Japanese Restaurant and the chef cooked up the shrimp on the griddle right in front of us. And remember how he pitched a shrimp to each member of the table with the spatula and had us try to catch it in our mouths? I was the only one that managed to do it, oddly enough, because I hated shrimp. What you didn’t see was me pulling the shrimp out of my mouth and stuffing it under the seat cushion of my chair. Just thought I ought to confess that after all this time.
I still hate shrimp.
* I discovered the internet when I was 12 and I’ve been online ever since. Well, not continually but you know what I mean. My interest started with a chat room and then I went on to creating various web pages just for fun. In the process I taught myself HTML. It was only in 2007 that I discovered blogging and that led to my own blog and my own little blog design business.
* I can still belch louder than you. But I’ve learned to be more polite in public.
* I’ve now been to Germany, Switzerland, France, Austria and Lichtenstein. I’ve learned how to crochet, scrapbook, can, sew, cake decorate and more. I’m also an avid genealogist. Nothing that has occurred is as I predicted it would be, it’s so much better.
Thanks for the tag Dad of Divas!
