The Dark Knight

I waited 3 years for this one. Eagerly waited. Hoping I wouldn’t be disappointed.

I wasn’t.

It wasn’t just the awesome action sequences that drew me in. It wasn’t just Christian Bale who drew me in, whom I’ve been a fan of ever since I first saw him in Little Women. It wasn’t just the fantastic acting or cinematography that impressed me. Like it’s predecessor, this sequel brought so much more. It brought thought. It made me evaluate the depth of my own character. It made me stare the ugliest sides of humanity in the face and realize that the worser evil, was that of a fallen angel. It reminded me that criminals can still make good choices and that good people can make bad ones. It had me assuming the worst of human character and brought to tears by the best. It reminded me that one person can make a difference, even without high tech gadgetry and wicked combat skills.

Go see it.

We’re going this afternoon. I’ve loved CB since Newsies, when he was a kid. Thought he was amazing in the 1st Batman. I’m prepared to be impressed. :)

I just saw Batman Begins Thursday night (yeah, I know I’m behind; I think most superhero movies are really stupid, but I have to admit that they’ve gotten better and better lately!).

It was good enough that I didn’t notice Christian Bale’s odd way of holding his mouth when saying sibilants. (That’s saying a lot, since I’ve seen that in every movie I’ve seen him in since he was 13, and I don’t think he got it “fixed.”)

Our kids bought us all tickets for the midnight showing thursday nite. i’ve never really gotten into the comic book/superhero thing. so I haven’t gone to any of the others this year like Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Hancock, etc. I rarely attend movies any longer because nine times out of ten it was a waste of $$. So at midnight, I was questioning whether I’d even be able to stay awake 5 minutes into it. Well, this movie kept my attention from beginning to end and gave me something to really think about as well. The acting was great. Ledger, who I loved in “A Knight’s Tale” was amazing. And I’ve been watching Christian Bale every since as a 12-year old he carried the amazing epic movie Empire of the Sun. If you haven’t seen it, DO!!! It is amazing!!!

I haven’t seen a movie since the last Superman was out. I saw Christian Bale was in this (avid fan since Newsies) and told Chris I wanted to see it. So, as soon as I get a baby sitter lined up off we go to watch a movie in the…movie theater!

I don’t mind action movies at all, but I was afraid to see the guy who I will forever see as a sweety turned into a psychopath.

But you make me want to see it.

I want to see this movie SO bad! It’s so sad but I just watched Batman Begins a few nights ago. It was well worth the wait. Not sure why I waited so long, but just did. Now, I am NOT waiting that long to see Dark Knight!

I think I need to take dh on a date night. He will think he won the lottery if I surprised him with tics to this movie. We really like Batman! I have heard nothing but good things about this one from friends.

Okay Summer, apparently I am the only one clueless here but why have you waited 3 years for this movie? Is this a book or part of a series?

  20. VeRondaNo Gravatar on July 24th, 2008 9:58 pm
