The Responsibility Project

“We believe the more people think and talk about responsibility, the more the world becomes a better place.” - Liberty Mutual

What is your responsibility policy? That’s what Liberty Mutual wants to know. Remember those neat commercials showing people paying acts of kindness forward? I know when I first saw them I really appreciated them. A lot of commercials these days seem to encourage lying, taking advantage of others and being downright rude in an attempt at humor and I really liked seeing people actually doing kind things for each other. But some people took their appreciation for those commercials a step further.

“It all began when we ran a TV commercial about people doing things for strangers. The response was truly overwhelming. Thousands of emails and letters from people all over the country thanking us.
We thought, if one TV spot from Liberty Mutual can get people thinking and talking about responsibility, imagine what could happen if we went a step further?…
We believe that the more people think and talk about responsibility, and even debate what it means, the more it can affect how we live our daily lives. And perhaps, in this small way, together, we can make the world just a little better.”

Liberty Mutual took that one extra step by creating The Responsibility Project, a website filled with resources and short films to encourage individual’s to treat each other with respect and to promote the idea that one person truly can make a difference. Even kids will enjoy watching the films and learning from them. Go check it out and maybe it will motivate you, as it has me, to be kinder each day.

Thanks to Mom Central for letting me know about this project.
