Of neighbors and children
Tell me you’ve all had one? A miserly neighbor that seems to be parked by their front door at all times of day, ready to jump out and scream at your children if they make any noise lasting longer than 30 seconds. My children escaped into the complex hallway while I was getting laundry and yes, they made a lot of noise but I was trying to shush them, get the laundry and herd them all back into the apartment, all of which took under 2 minutes. But sure enough after the first 1.5 minutes this woman jumped out and screamed (I’m not exaggerating) at them to stop.
1. Scream at my children, you tick me off.
2. Scream at my children, you tick me off so bad I ruminate about all the nasty things I want to say to you for the rest of the day.
There it is, sometimes I get really angry and I think mean thoughts. But then of course that turns into guilt for playing out all of those mean, word saying, face slapping scenarioes in my head all day. Then I realize that I was more upset about the fact that my son disobeyed me and opened the door and let the baby out and ran down the hallway yelling like a banshee, than I was at her for being just as annoyed by it as I was. *huff huff* Breathe.
Plus, my son wasn’t suppose to have been home yesterday at that time in the first place. I got a call from the school saying that the teacher had brought him to the school nurse because she noticed round patches of oozing skin on his legs and elbows. The nurse thinks it’s ringworm but I know it’s not because he’s had these eczema flare ups all this winter. However I was told he couldn’t return to school until I got a doctor’s note stating what the spots are, that they are not contagious and that they are being treated. How annoying!
Add to that the fact that, yes I’m PMSing (of course hubby had to ask me that last night) and you’ve got quite a brew.

HATE it when that happens. And it all seems to come at once, doesn’t it?
And I hate when teachers think they know more about your kids than you do. McK had a bloody nose in 4th grade (very common for her) and the teacher called me THREE times threatening to report me for neglect if I didn’t take her to the doctor. My doctor was out so I had to listen to a lecture from another doctor about “simply pinching the nostrils shut…”–as if I hadn’t tried that one already! Grrr.

Hmmm. Guess I still have issues about that.

If that nurse knew her stuff, she would know that eczema can ooze; ringworm does not.

Ugh. I would be so bugged, on all three accounts (neighbor, school, and hubby) … now you have to go PAY MONEY to have a doctor tell you what you already know.

Owning property isn’t much fun either. I’ve got the entire nutbar family living on my street.

I do not days like this … so sorry you are having one. (And I get tired of the apartment complex living, too. Our annoying lady lives below us … don’t even get me started about her!?!)
And you are so not alone. I have angry and mean and bitter thoughts way too often! Daily … hourly at times :) !! At least I am not in denial :) !!
