The latest in the Owens’ house
I don’t usually do random update type posts but since I’ve been so busy I thought I’d humor those of you who were curious (family, etc.) as of to where I disappeared to the last couple of days.
1. It is flu season out here and Count Dooku really got slammed. He said his tummy was hurting yesterday morning as we were getting ready for school. I wasn’t sure if I believed him or not since sometimes his tummy hurts when he doesn’t want to do certain things i.e. eat dinner or clean his room, but my mom instinct told me to keep him home. Thirty minutes later he puked up his breakfast. He threw up four more times yeterday including once in his sleep which completely shocked me. I heard him retching and went to check on him and there was vomit streaming down the couch from his mouth but his eyes were still closed and he wasn’t moving. I didn’t know you could actually toss your cookies without knowing about it.
2. I’m throwing a friend a baby shower! And being the overly ambitious nut that I am I decided to hand make all the invitations. I spent most of yesterday just conceptualizing and trying different design layouts and finally I decided on one. Then I had to make 20 or so more of them. The finished product: (personal info blurred out)
3. I’ve been on a crazy organizational kick. I was so bored with not having my own house to take care of for 3 weeks I guess I’m making up for it now because I am cleaning and tossing and organizing EVERYTHING. Call me weird but I really enjoy cleaning and organizing. I started really loving it when I was about 15 and my parents certainly loved it to as I was always cleaning the house for them. Of course I also knew I would get more privileges for doing so….
4. I’ve really been struggling with panic and depression lately. I’ve noticed with each of my pregnancies that the further out I get from the end of the pregnancy or the end of nursing, the worse my emotional stability becomes a week or two before each monthly cycle. I’ve decided it’s time to either up my meds or get pregnant. HA!
Thanks for all of you regular readers who buoy my spirits with your comments and emails. I’m really grateful for this network that helps curb some of the loneliness I feel being stuck at home a lot. Especially in the winter when the kids are sick for weeks in a row. You all are great!

So sorry for poor Count Dooku! :( And your couch, too, apparently…
Cute baby shower invites! You certainly are ambitious, to do so many by hand!
I’m so not in love with trying to organize. More power to you!
Depression…. yeah. Hit me hard this week, too. I think a large part of it was hormones for me, as well. You’re too funny, to throw that bit about considering pregnancy in there, lol. Sure would put a kink in the whole idea of weight loss for a while, wouldn’t it? I was ranting about my depression this week, and someone reminded me that I probably needed some sunshine. And I think they’re right. I’ve been avoiding outdoors this week because of the cold, and combine that with bad hormones, and you’ve got yourself a perfect recipe for mid-winter depression.

I’ve been feeling the organizing itch coming on… I’m afraid if I scratch we’ll have nothing left in the house! I hope your spirits rise soon, just know that winter will eventually lead to spring.
I love the shower invitations, Summer! You have a lucky friend!

Oi, talk about the sad and the glad!
I’m reorganizing my house right now to help deal with the depression. It helps. Dosen’t cure, but helps. :)

I would love it if you could come to my house and use your organizational skills. I need to toss and organize many many things. And I love the snowman header! So cute.
