My first time at the circus!

Isn’t that strange? Considering that the circus isn’t an out of this world expense and that it generally comes to you, I wonder why I’ve never thought to go. My husband had never been either so last night was a first for both of us.

We were given free tickets (who says blogging doesn’t have it perks) to attend, courtesy of Mom Central and Feld Entertainment. But first we were invited to a V.I.P. Meet and Greet. We left Sassypants with a sitter and took the boys with us, arriving at the arena early to snack, meet with performers and walk on the circus floor watching various demonstrations up close.

005

This clown had some seriously huge biceps, more noticeable when he was juggling

0081

The boys called this lady, The Doll Clown. She was really funny.

019

This pooch was running in circles around the goat and through the barrel as the goat rolled the barrel forward with it’s front hooves

The boys got pulled into a tug of war with some clowns

We got to meet Kelly the elephant

So after the meet and greet we took our seats and the show began. We all really enjoyed it! I’m always amazed by incredible feats of strength, daring and agility and this show provided plenty of it. The boys favorite parts of course involved motorcycles and clowns. One in particular named Tom stole the show quite a bit with his very funny physical comedy and gags. It was a great treat and one I’d love to attend again!

If you’d like to go yourself, Mom Central has provided a fantastic discount on tickets when you buy 4 or more. Visit Ticket Master and enter the coupon code: MOM in the Mom Central promotion box at check out. That’s 4 tickets for just $44! And each ticket after that is just $11 as well.

I never really considered going to the circus before. But it actually sounds kinda fun! And not so creepy. heh I especially like how the kids got to participate in tug-of-war with the hilariously beefed-up clowns! That’s just cool. :)

Oh I sure hope I get a chance to do something like that some day - what a blast - congrats!

We were at a circus today too!

it was the animal-free kind, but I don’t begrudge them not bringing Animals on a tour to Alaska.

The only thing that really bothered me (aside from the constant commercials urging us to buy their over-priced merchandise before it lost its value) was how the ringmaster’s pitch was all about “world’s greatest” and “best on the planet” and there is a point at which you realize he’s just sharing a line, and while I get it, it still doesn’t sit right with me.

How fun! I have never been the circus. Someday I will go.

The first and only time I’ve been to a circus was when I was pregnant with my oldest 15 years ago. She wriggled and squirmed in utero the whole time from all the noise. Guess who was sitting in front of us? A guy by the name of Thomas Monson :)
